SIMPLE PROCESS
Our programme is designed to maximise your chances of pregnancy while minimising your cost and time. We know how difficult it can be to seek care in an unfamiliar place with unfamiliar people so we’ve designed an easy process that mixes video technology, telephone, and email and requires only three visits to Ukraine – the first for advice on all financial, medical and legal issues, the second is IVF program. The third visit is the birth of your child. We pride ourselves on being highly responsive to ensure you feel completely connected and in the know at all times.
Stage 1 of the program starts with our first appointment – your first visit to our clinic. Your first visit is much more important than any on-line consultation, which we can give you free of charge. Your first visit is an eye-to-eye contact, the time when you can see our office and meet our personnel. This is the time when your every question would be answered in the course of our direct communication.
During your first visit you would be expected to stay in Ukraine for two days.
Day 1. Thorough and detail consulting on all medical and legal aspects of your individual infertility treatment program. Each step of your program would be discussed. You would look through the contracts. On this day you can choose a surrogate mother and, if necessary, an egg donor for your program. Their final choice can also be made later.
Day 2. Essential medical analyses and further discussion of the services to be provided under your individual program. As soon as all relevant contracts are signed, your program will start.
Main program stages
Our specialists will carry out medical preparation of your surrogate mother for the IVF procedure, that is for transfer of embryo/embryos (the number of embryos to be transferred should be agreed upon in advance and would depend, to a considerable degree, on the quality of genetic matter, which was used in the process of their generation). If an oocyte donor was chosen as well, she would also be prepared for IVF along with the surrogate mother. In this case, the growth of a large number of follicles would be artificially stimulated. Each preparatory stage would be run under direct control of the doctor-in-charge.
Important. If in the course of preparation for the IVF procedure a surrogate mother or an egg donor cannot continue their program through any reason, we would be bound to replace any such candidate for another one free of charge.
IVF procedure. Retrieval of mature follicles, donation of genetic matter by genetic father, fertilization of oocytes with spermatozoa (involving the use of ICSI method) to produce embryos. Following 3-6 days after “in-vitro” fertilization, at least one embryo is transferred into the uterine cavity of the surrogate mother.
As onset of pregnancy of the surrogate mother is confirmed, the condition of her health, as well as prenatal evolution of your child/children should be closely controlled by our clinic.
Important. Your personal program coordinator would keep you informed of all current events throughout the whole process, from the time of initiation of stimulation of your surrogate mother to the moment of labor and birth of your child. You will be sent thorough information of every scheduled visit of your surrogate mother to the clinic, both at the stage of her preparation for transfer, and in the course of her pregnancy. You will be timely and steadily notified of each phase of your child’s intrauterine development (medical reports grounded on US-scanning results), as well as on health condition of the woman who carries your child (or children). Your personal coordinator will let you know, well in advance, the optimum dates of your arrival to the clinic at the time of birth.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
What will happen if a surrogate mother (whom I chose and paid for her preparation for IVF) is found unfit to continue the program, grounding on the test results? Would I have to choose a new surrogate mother and pay for her medical preparation again?
In any such situation you would not bear any extra expenses! You would just choose a new surrogate mother.
Could my child inherit any character traits from the surrogate mother?
Certainly not! Since the modern medical science has not yet invented an ideal prenatal development medium, the surrogate’s uterus performs the function of an incubator to accommodate a genetically structured embryo. Hence, every character feature and psychological structure can ONLY be inherited by the child from a man and woman whose genetic matter was used for artificial conception purposes.
Could a surrogate mother keep the newborn cild?
The surrogacy laws in Ukraine give absolute support to intended parents, thus absolving a surrogate mother from all maternal rights in respect of a child whom she carries. After the pregnancy is confirmed, the surrogate mother should sign special formal documents in the presence of a lawyer and notary. As soon as the child is born, the surrogate mother should have no more contacts with the child. Besides, the contract to be signed with the surrogate mother absolves her legally from all the rights in respect of a child whom she will carry.
What is the proper way to choose a surrogate mother?
The main criterion is her physical and psycho-emotional health, rather than eye color, height or physiological features. The woman must have absolute physical health, be psychologically stable and adequate. We offer our patients only candidates who were proved healthy from the physical and psycho-emotional point of view and were found fit to take part in the program, grounding on the results of comprehensive medical and psychological testing.
Could a surrogate mother get pregnant before embryo transfer?
Such a situation is absolutely impossible. Getting ready for the transfer, the woman takes hormonal medicines, which stimulate endometrium growth and, at the same time, block the ovulation function. Therefore, a surrogate mother cannot get pregnant naturally.
